School Counselor

Dear Pulaski Elementary Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year at Pulaski Elementary School!  My name is Susy Bates, and I am honored to serve as your child’s school counselor.  This will be my thirty sixth year in education, and I continue to feel just as passionate and committed to supporting students as I did when I first began. 

As the school counselor, my role is to support the academic, social/emotional, and career development of all students.  I do this through:

• Classroom guidance lessons that teach skills like friendship, emotional regulation, and problem solving, and making good choices. 
• Short term individual and small group counseling
• Collaboration with teachers and parents to help students succeed
• Referrals to outside resources when needed

My goal is to create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where all students feel seen, heard, and valued.
